Job Summary
Lead a small crew delivering diverse maintenance and repair works across the Wellington network, including handrail, barrier, and retaining wall repairs alongside concreting and pothole fixes. Plan daily activities with the Supervisor, coordinate resources, and mentor team members to ensure work meets high safety and quality standards. Bring practical leadership experience in civil construction or infrastructure, a Class 2 driver's licence, and strong hands-on skills in construction, carpentry, or handyman tasks. Complete a pre-employment drug test, medical assessment, and Ministry of Justice check before starting. Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Leading Hand, Foreperson or similar leadership role
- Strong experience within civil construction, maintenance, roading or infrastructure environments
- Ability to lead and motivate crews while maintaining productivity and quality standards
- Strong commitment to Health, Safety and Environmental requirements
- Good communication and planning skills
- A proactive, hands-on approach to work
- Class 2 driver's licence preferred
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with concreting, pavement repairs, general maintenance or construction activities
- Practical construction, building, carpentry or handyman experience would be highly regarded
