Job Summary
Lead applied AI research at scale across multiple strategic domains (networking, security, programming, human–computer interaction), translating complex AI methodologies into scalable, enterprise-ready solutions. Define research roadmaps, drive adoption of techniques such as representation learning, transfer learning, and generative models; partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Design to operationalize models and integrate AI capabilities into enterprise products. Mentor and grow AI research talent, establish standards for ethical AI, data governance, and security, and represent the team through publications, conferences, and external partnerships to advance enterprise AI at Cisco.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field and 6+ years of relevant industry research experience.
- Experience leading or conducting advanced AI research, specifically in areas such as representation learning, structured prediction, or deep learning architectures.
- Demonstrated experience applying advanced AI techniques (e.g., transfer learning, generative models) to solve complex problems in networking, security, or human-computer interaction.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders (Product Management, Engineering) to translate business objectives into actionable research roadmaps.
- Documented experience ensuring AI research adheres to ethical standards, data privacy, and security governance protocols.
