Job Summary
Develop and implement monthly lesson plans and daily schedules for youth enrichment programs while ensuring all materials and supplies are stocked and program areas remain clean. Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment by positively interacting with children, parents, and team members, managing proper staff-to-child ratios, and greeting families to handle check-ins and check-outs. Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and injuries, and promptly report any concerns to the Association Director. Complete scheduled shifts, fill in as needed, and uphold all required safety certifications including CPR/AED and First Aid. Ensure program activities start and end on time while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all participants.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 18 years
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience with children leading recreational activities
- Minimum of 1 year of full time or equivalent part time satisfactory and verifiable experience with school aged children and/or family programming
- Minimum of 1 year experience in specialized area
- Current CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification
- Current First Aid certification
- Current Oxygen Administration certification
- Ability to visually observe children and to intervene when the safety of participants could be compromised
- Ability to relate to adults and children
- Ability to manage conflict situations and effectively problem solve
- Lifting of program supplies up to 50 pounds
- Ability to physically move with participants through a variety of indoor and outdoor program settings including but not limited to swimming, hiking, skating, gym activities, arts and crafts
