Job Summary
Lead Youth Care Professional providing safety and around-the-clock supervision for residential youth at a Southern California treatment program. Responsibilities include monitoring and documenting youth behaviors, participating in educational and recreational activities, and collaborating with other departments to meet each youth’s treatment goals. Emphasizes modeling cooperation, respect, and responsibility within the group living environment. Requires empathy, patience, and respect for at-risk youth; must pass background checks and employment screenings; requires a valid California driver’s license and relevant college hours or experience; company training must be completed within six months. Schedule includes morning and evening shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Be empathetic, patient, and respectful, with a genuine desire to work with troubled teens
- Applicants are required to pass a criminal background check, drug screening, physical exam, and TB test
- Must hold a current State Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record for the past three years
- Candidates should have 60 hours of college education in a directly related field of study or at least two years of prior experience working with at-risk youth in a similar Direct Care position, with supervisory experience preferred
- Completion of company-required training within six months of placement in the position is mandatory
- Internal applicants must have an acceptable performance record, at least 90 days of experience in a Child Care Worker or higher Direct Care position
- Must complete Initial Qualifications Training prior to placement in this role.
