Job Summary
Conduct digital and in-home consultations to oversee wound, ostomy, and continence patients while serving as a clinical expert for related issues across all staff. Deliver education to clinical teams and manage supply utilization and inventory. Maintain accountability for patient privacy and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options. Work independently within a team environment, managing multiple tasks amidst interruptions while ensuring compliance with safety policies and regulations. Requires 8 years of recent relevant experience, a California RN license, CWON certification, and a valid driver's license with automobile insurance. Full-time days schedule with 40 weekly hours.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- RN-Registered Nurse of California
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
- CWON - Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse
- Valid Driver's License
- Automobile Insurance
- 8 years of recent relevant experience
- Demonstrated clinical expertise in the area of wound care
- Working knowledge of pharmacology
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Working knowledge of aseptic technique
- Demonstrated general knowledge and competence with regard to nursing theories, concepts and practices
- Knowledge of anatomy
- Knowledge of physiology
- Working knowledge of the healthcare industry
- Knowledge of safety precaution policies
- Knowledge of best practices regarding patient care and privacy
- Knowledge of changes in local/state/federal regulations
- Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people
- Basic knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook), Electronic Health Record
- Ability to work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions
- Ability to identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options
- Ability to ensure the privacy of each patient's Protected Health Information (PHI)
- Ability to build collaborates relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives
- Availability for weekend shifts as needed
- Ability to handle hazardous drugs in the course of their work, including patient care, which requires them to manage, store, prepare, receive, unpack, transport, dispose of, or administer drugs identified as hazardous or potentially hazardous by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and in accordance with the USP 800 guidelines
