Job Summary
Lead Welding Instructor-STVT provides welding instruction and leads program direction across campus with responsibilities including curriculum development and revision, faculty hiring and evaluation, student advising and retention efforts, coordination of externships/internships/practicum experiences, and collaboration with Admissions, Career Services, and local advisory boards to ensure program effectiveness and compliance with accreditation standards. The role requires subject-matter expertise in welding, strong organizational and leadership abilities, and the capacity to support student success through advising, program development, and coordination of industry partnerships. Proficiency with Canvas, CampusVue, and Microsoft/Google productivity tools, plus knowledge of industry certifications and regulatory requirements, are expected.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in academic instruction in a post-secondary environment
- 2 years of industry experience in the field of instruction
- Experience in a management or supervisory role
- Master’s Degree (required for employment in some states)
- Ability to qualify as an instructor
- Knowledge of faculty development and reporting
