Job Summary
Provide daily technical direction, field coordination, and advanced operations support to operators and assigned staff across the Santa Cruz service area. Plan, assign, and review operations, maintenance, sampling, and inspections while performing process testing for permit compliance. Coordinate preventive maintenance on treatment equipment, train and mentor operators on procedures and safety, and maintain accurate records for operations and equipment status. Promptly inform management of plant issues, compliance risks, and resource needs while coordinating with vendors, regulators, and clients. Participate in 24-hour on-call coverage for alarms and emergencies, and enter confined spaces after required training. Represent Natural Systems Utilities professionally with operators, clients, and the public.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED
- CA Wastewater Treatment Grade 2 License
- Driver's License
- Certificates, licenses, and registrations as required
- Must participate in the on-call roster, including after-hours, weekend, and holiday work as needed
- Overtime as required
Desired Qualifications
- related coursework or training in wastewater, water, collections, maintenance, supervision, or a technical field
- Minimum 4 years of progressively responsible water/wastewater operations experience
- Lead, senior operator, trainer, or crew coordination experience
