Job Summary
Direct a small team of associates in warehouse functional areas including Case Production, Table Production, and Fair Finishing. Train new hires and mentor existing staff on Product Coordinator functions, while leading daily start-up meetings and special projects. Serve as a subject-matter expert for Labor Data Collection and drive continuous process improvement across all warehouse operations. Monitor supplies and equipment, ensuring proper utilization for safety and productivity. Operate motorized pallet jacks upon completing the required training program. Full-time seasonal position with weekdays schedule, $19 hourly plus $1.50 second shift differential. Scholastic supports over 127,000 book-sale events annually to foster a lifelong love of reading.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred
- Ability to demonstrate basic product scanner proficiency (i.e., ordering replenishment) effectively with minimal errors
- Good verbal/written communication skills
- Basic math skills
- Ability to read documents in English, such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and direct other employees
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to lift boxes that weigh up to 50 lbs occasionally on a daily basis
- Must be able to lift boxes that weigh up to 30 lbs to a height of 70" occasionally on a daily basis
- Must be able to push wheeled cases, which may weigh in excess of 300 lbs, with an initial force of up to 50 lbs and a sustained force of up to 30 lbs
- Must be able to stand, reach above and below the shoulders, squat, bend and kneel as necessary to perform the job
- Must be able to tolerate work in a non-air conditioned environment
- Must be able to accurately follow specific instructions for multiple detailed assembly processes
- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
- Must be able to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Must have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

- Power Equipment with Stand Up Reach & Stock Picker
- Previous experience leading a team of associates
- Truck loading and unloading
- RF scanner use
- Inventory management knowledge
- Forklift experience is a plus (If certified)
