Job Summary
Lead Veterinary Technician/Assistant responsible for greeting clients and patients, obtaining weight and vital signs, documenting in EMR, assisting doctors with routine and emergency appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia, performing patient restraint, processing samples, dispensing medications, monitoring anesthesia, maintaining records, and training/paraprofessional staff. Also handles client education, scheduling, delegation of tasks, maintaining hospital cleanliness, and enforcing Petco/Vetco policies. Requires leadership, strong communication, compassion, teamwork, and adaptability within a veterinary hospital environment.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year of experience in a veterinary practice (preferred)
- Leadership capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Compassionate and sympathetic demeanor
- Telephone and computer skills
- Team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments
