Job Summary

Design transmission lines from 69kV to 765kV, mentor team members, and coordinate activities to ensure compliance with specifications and client requirements. Prepare technical reports and studies while performing independent reviews of calculations, drawings, and PLS-CADD models. Lead others in leveraging automation, AI, and scripting to improve workflows and reduce rework. This hybrid role requires three days in-office. We do not sponsor work authorization.

Required Qualifications

  • BS degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program
  • 12 years of transmission design experience
  • Proficiency with PLS-CADD software
  • Experience working directly with clients on transmission lines from 69kV through 500kV
  • Knowledge of engineering standards including NESC, IEC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE and ANSI
  • Experience reviewing design drawings created by others
  • Experience must include preparation of scopes of work
  • Experience must include development of conceptual designs
  • Experience must include determination of design basis
  • Experience must include the selection of equipment and materials
  • Experience must include the preparation and assembling of calculations and specifications
  • Must be able to lead others who use modern tools
  • Must be willing or able to lead others in taking engineering problems from issue to solution by setting expectations for using data and modern tools such as automation and AI to improve workflows, reduce rework, and deliver cost-effective designs
  • Leaders in these roles often direct automation and process-improvement work, for example, how teams automate calculations, summarize technical documents, or generate design documentation and guiding when and how AI or agentic AI tools are used while ensuring results are checked
  • Overseeing engineers who program or script (e.g., Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) to automate engineering tasks, with review of automated outputs
  • Additional learning, such as a minor, certificate, or other experience in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields that enables effective oversight of automation and agentic AI-enabled engineering workflows
