Lead Technology Specialist

Job Summary
Consult on client requirements and propose technology solutions and business cases for internal and external customers. Lead the design, testing, and implementation of technical projects while collaborating with senior IT staff to ensure compliance with existing standards and processes. Provide subject matter expertise on comprehensive technology issues, including SAP ERP, Oracle platforms, and digital manufacturing capabilities. Advise on emerging technologies, evaluate their business impacts, and drive organizational change without direct reporting authority. Mentor others to enhance technical competence and coach teams on defining and analyzing superior technical solutions. This role requires working onsite five days a week at Caterpillar's Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar facility.
Required Qualifications
- Substantial experience in senior technical leadership roles such as solution architect, enterprise architect, principal engineer or management consultant, with a track record of shaping direction rather than only executing it
- Demonstrated experience delivering technology within a manufacturing environment, with a working understanding of production, quality, maintenance and supply chain processes
- Deep hands-on experience with SAP ERP in a manufacturing context
- Practical working knowledge of Oracle platforms
- Experience delivering digital manufacturing, industrial IoT or MES capability
- Experience taking at least one AI or advanced analytics use case into production
- Evidence of influencing senior stakeholders and driving organisational change without direct reporting authority over them
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Ability to work effectively with globally distributed teams across time zones
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, information systems or a related discipline
- This position requires working onsite five days a week

Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a global matrixed organisation where the technology function reports centrally rather than to the site
- Master's degree in engineering, computer science or business administration
