Job Summary
Lead fiber cable installation and repair work across residential, commercial, and hospitality environments while adhering to strict safety protocols. Monitor field performance against benchmarks, execute quality inspections, and coach technicians on installations. Manage vehicle inspections, report on equipment status, and track customer complaints to resolution. Present training updates to the team, conduct field visits, and act as the liaison between field staff, operations support, and customers. Complete required documentation for health, safety, and quality assurance purposes. Evening and weekend work is required, along with the ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work at heights with provided training. This role supports Aecon Utilities' mission to deliver safe, reliable utility infrastructure across North America.
Required Qualifications
- Must be safety conscious and able to adhere to a highly focused safety culture
- Must be technically inclined and have a desire to learn
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Installation and repair experience in fiber cable installation and excavation
- Must be willing to Travel as required
- Must provide a clear driver's abstract on an annual basis
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check
- Must be able to work in varying heights and spaces in accordance with provincial and federal guidelines
- Must be available for Evening and Weekend work
- Must be able to work long hours when required
- Must be able to perform in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to sit for periods of time and utilize the telephone and computer
- Must be able to sit in a vehicle driving and complete paperwork
- Must be able to use locate equipment (25 lbs) and a 20 lbs transmitter
- Must be able to lift and work with materials weighing up to 75 lbs
- Must be comfortable working at heights with ladders or bucket truck
- Must be able to receive training for working at heights with ladders or bucket truck
