Job Summary
Interpret topographic survey data, field notes, and engineering inputs to produce accurate civil design drawings and manage advanced Civil 3D models for infrastructure layouts. Lead drafting components on large, multidisciplinary projects while ensuring compliance with WSP CAD standards, and collaborate with engineers and project managers to deliver coordinated design packages. Mentor junior designers to strengthen technical capability and integrate Life-Saving Rules into daily work to prioritize safety in office and field environments. Requires a diploma or CAD certificate with 8+ years of civil design experience, including minimum 8 years of hands-on Civil 3D proficiency. Salary ranges from $94,100 to $138,000 depending on location, with flexible work options available.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or CAD certificate
- 8+ years of civil, environmental, or related drafting/design experience
- Minimum 8 years of hands-on Civil 3D experience
- Strong commitment to CAD standards and quality control
- Proven ability to prepare complete drawing packages using survey data, client information, and field notes with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical skills, including advanced calculations and data manipulation in Excel to support engineering workflows
- Proven ability to mentor junior and intermediate designers
- Proven ability to foster a culture of continuous learning
- Proven ability to integrate WSP's Life-Saving Rules into daily work
- Proven ability to prioritize safety in both office and field environments
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with additional tools such as Plant 3D, Revit, ReCap, Vulcan, MinePlan, Global Mapper, Surfer, gINT, OpenGround, MicroStation, Autodesk Construction Cloud
- Fluency in French
