Job Summary
Install and decommission network and cabling infrastructure within a Data Center environment, delivering sustainable, repeatable solutions with a focus on continuous improvement. Lead crews of five or more technicians while providing structured feedback to stakeholders, ensuring high-quality workmanship, Data Center cleanliness, and adherence to all safety, quality, and industry standards. Collaborate with various stakeholders to resolve project obstacles and remove barriers, utilizing skills in fusion splicing, field terminations, and troubleshooting both copper and fiber systems. Read blueprints, comprehend building documentation, and track project metrics and SLAs to support timely project closeouts. Maintain orderly paperwork and submit timesheets for crew reporting while effectively communicating with foremen, leads, and technical staff.
Required Qualifications
- Experienced in fusion splicing
- Knowledge of how to pull all types of low voltage cables
- Capability to lead a crew of 5+ technicians
- Understanding of customer service
- Ability to perform job walks
- Ability to communicate with customer
- Capability to accept responsibility for the outcome of work performed by employees that report to him/her
- Knowledge and use of basic telecom hand tools
- Clear understanding of job safety requirements
- Ability to read and understand job floor plan
- Familiarity with wiring schemes and wiring testing
- Capability to perform field terminations and labeling
- Capability to maintain orderly paperwork
- Capability to run midsize to large projects and service jobs
- Skill to layout MDF and IDF closets
- Capability to dress all types of cable
- Capability to perform terminations
- Understanding of fiber equipment
- Understanding of all types of cable
- Understanding of fiber terminations
- Understanding of both copper and fiber cable testing and troubleshooting
- Ability to work on analog, DSL, and extend T1 lines
- Ability to patch network equipment
- Capability to track and submit timesheets for crew reporting
- Capability to effectively communicate with Foreman, Leads, Techs
- Understanding of metrics/SLA's and ability to track
- Capability to coordinate with QAQC on quality status walks
- Knowledge and understanding of Project Close Out
- Capability to identify the tech's strengths and weaknesses
- Authorization to work in the United States without the need for Visa Sponsorship now or in the future
