Job Summary
Install and decommission network and cabling infrastructure in data center environments, delivering sustainable, repeatable solutions with a focus on continuous improvement. Lead crews of five or more technicians, providing structured feedback on project progress to stakeholders while ensuring high-quality workmanship and maintaining data center cleanliness. Read blueprints and building documentation to resolve project obstacles, perform field terminations, label cables, and troubleshoot copper and fiber systems. Coordinate with QAQC on quality status walks, track SLA metrics, and submit timesheets for crew reporting.
Required Qualifications
- Experienced in fusion splicing
- Knowledge of how to pull all types of low voltage cables
- Capability to lead a crew of 5+ technicians
- Understanding of customer service
- Ability to perform job walks
- Ability to communicate with customer
- Capability to accept responsibility for the outcome of work performed by employees that report to him/her
- Knowledge and use of basic telecom hand tools
- Clear understanding of job safety requirements
- Ability to read and understand job floor plan
- Familiarity with wiring schemes and wiring testing
- Capability to perform field terminations and labeling
- Capability to maintain orderly paperwork
- Capability to run midsize to large projects and service jobs
- Skill to layout MDF and IDF closets
- Ability to dress all types of cable
- Understanding of fiber equipment
- Understanding of all types of cable and fiber terminations
- Understanding of both copper and fiber cable testing and troubleshooting
- Ability to work on analog, DSL, and extend T1 lines
- Ability to patch network equipment
- Capability to track and submit timesheets for crew reporting
- Understanding of metrics/SLA's and ability to track
- Capability to coordinate with QAQC on quality status walks
- Knowledge and understanding of Project Close Out
- Ability to identify the tech's strengths and weaknesses
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for Visa Sponsorship now or in the future
