Job Summary
Install and decommission network and cabling infrastructure in data center environments, delivering sustainable, repeatable solutions with a focus on continuous improvement. Lead crews of five or more technicians, providing structured feedback on project progress to stakeholders while ensuring high-quality workmanship and maintaining data center cleanliness. Read blueprints and building documentation to resolve project obstacles, perform field terminations, label cables, and troubleshoot copper and fiber systems including fusion splicing and T1 line extensions. Track timesheets, monitor SLAs, and coordinate with QAQC on quality status walks to manage project close-outs.
Required Qualifications
- Experienced in fusion splicing
- Must be capable of leading a crew of 5+ technicians
- Must understand customer service, perform job walks and communicate with customer
- Accept responsibility for the outcome of work performed by employees that report to him/her
- Knowledge and use of basic telecom hand tools
- Clear understanding of job safety requirements
- Be able to read and understand job floor plan
- Should be familiar on wiring schemes and wiring testing
- Should understand and be capable in performing field terminations and labeling
- Capable of maintaining orderly paperwork, capable of running midsize to large projects and service jobs
- Possess skill to layout MDF and IDF closets, dress all types of cable and perform terminations and should include understanding of fiber equipment, all types of cable and fiber terminations
- Understanding of both copper and fiber cable testing and troubleshooting
- Shall be able to work on analog, DSL, and be able to extend T1 lines
- Be able to patch network equipment
- Copper/Fiber (term, test, splice, troubleshoot)
- Effectively communicate with Foreman, Leads, Techs
- Understanding metrics/SLA's and able to track
- Coordinates with QAQC on quality status walks
- Knowledge and understanding of Project Close Out
- Identify the tech's strengths and weaknesses
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for Visa Sponsorship now or in the future
Desired Qualifications
- Must be able to pull all types of low voltage cables
- Should be able to work on analog, DSL, and be able to extend T1 lines
