Job Summary
Assist technical support groups with application issues, resolve incoming assembly, test, or manufacturing problems, and identify design issues with system components. Help identify field hardware or software issues, support chiller customer witness tests, and respond to controls questions in requests for quotations. Travel to job sites to assist technicians in diagnosing design issues with Trane controls and develop general support knowledge for a broad range of products. Participate in development projects transitioning to production, aiding in identifying support requirements for new products and opportunities for cost reduction. Monday to Thursday onsite work with flexible Friday location options. Annual base salary range of $123,721.66 to $173,004.99. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and minimum 10 years of HVAC experience.
Required Qualifications
- 4-Year Bachelor of Science Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related degree
- Minimum of 10 years of HVAC related experience
- Thorough understanding of the electric water chiller refrigeration system
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Excellent people skills and ability to work with multiple SBU's/vendors
- Ability to communicate with others both written and orally
- Mobility within the work facility
- Use of Windows PC environment engineering tools
- Use of digital multimeters and oscilloscopes
- As necessary travel to job sites to assist technical support groups, and local office field technicians in diagnosing and resolving potential design issues with Trane controls
