Job Summary
Lead Shader/Material Artist with deep expertise in Unreal Engine 5 to define the visual and technical quality bar for shaders and materials, establish and optimize shader/material pipelines, drive R&D into UE5 features (Lumen, Nanite, virtual texturing), and collaborate with the Art Director, engineers, and external partners to deliver world-class visuals with real-time performance. Requires 7+ years in games and at least 2 shipped AAA titles, strong leadership and mentoring abilities, and hands-on proficiency in UE5 material editor, shader graph, and rendering pipeline. Responsibilities include creating modular, reusable shaders/materials, ensuring materials support art direction, optimizing for memory and draw calls, and supervising a team of shader/material artists while coordinating with external vendors. Onsite requirement: at least 3 days/week at one of the studios in Brighton (UK) or Brno (CZ).
