Job Summary
Lead Teacher responsible for planning and implementing weekly play-based, age-appropriate lessons; fostering a positive classroom culture; observing and assessing child development; maintaining accurate progress documentation; managing classroom behavior; communicating with parents daily; participating in ongoing professional development; collaborating with colleagues to share resources and ideas. The role requires meeting Minnesota DHS qualifications for a licensed child care center, ability to lift up to 65 pounds, CPR/First Aid certification (or willing to obtain within 30 days), and a Monday–Friday schedule in Eden Prairie, MN. Starting pay ranges from $19 to $22 per hour, with benefits including health/dental/vision insurance, PTO/holidays, 401(k), and an employee childcare discount.
Required Qualifications
- Must meet Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) qualifications for a Lead Teacher in a licensed child care center
- Demonstrated experience working with young children in a licensed early childhood education setting
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Must possess a valid CPR/First Aid certification, or willing to obtain within 30 days of employment
- Must be able to and willing to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 65lbs as needed
- Must be able to commute to the assigned school
- Must be able to regularly use technology such as Microsoft Office, online lesson planning, daily reporting
