Job Summary
Lead Teacher at The Goddard School coordinates the daily operations of assigned classes, plans, presents, and evaluates educational and recreational activities for childcare in a safe environment, and works directly with children and parents daily to provide quality customer service. Responsibilities include observing children’s interests, collaborating with other teachers to develop an engaging curriculum, communicating with parents daily (via mobile apps and personal discussions), engaging with childcare professionals for professional growth, maintaining classroom ratios, and ensuring a successful classroom environment. The role emphasizes building relationships with children, parents, and faculty, recognizing and rewarding achievements, and supporting ongoing professional development. Qualifications include an Associate or Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred), CDA (preferred), 1-2 years of experience (preferred), pre-service training completion, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and background-check eligibility. Required Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
- Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred
- 1-2 years of previous experience preferred
- Has successfully completed state-required pre-service training
- Meets background check eligibility
- Ability to calmly address stressful situations professionally while multi-tasking to ensure smooth school operations
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations. For Infant and Young Toddler Teachers, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib
