Job Summary
Lead Teacher for Summer Rising program in NYC DOE-affiliated summer sites. Responsible for delivering hands-on multi-sensory and project-based lessons to 20-30 elementary/middle school students daily from 8:00am to 6:00pm, Monday–Friday. Plan and submit lesson plans, coordinate field trips, supervise students, and facilitate curriculum-aligned enrichment and STEAM activities. Work with the program site director and Education Specialist to develop culminating event presentations, communicate with parents, supervise 20-30 students, and oversee an assistant teacher. Participate in professional development and maintain flexibility to cover across afterschool programs. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree (Education degree preferred), experience with children, strong computer skills, and ability to pass background checks. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor�s Degree required
- Bachelor�s Degree in Education field a plus
- Experience working with children and youth
- Must be flexible to work across all afterschool programs to provide coverage when needed
- Computer savvy in applications, video conferencing, and responding to emails
- Background check with NYC and NYS Department of Health and NYC Department of Education
