Job Summary
Develop and administer age-appropriate curriculum consistent with ORR-approved goals, creating flexible lesson plans and instructional materials for individualized small-group instruction. Conduct ongoing assessments of student learning, modify methods for special needs, and document progress while maintaining accurate records and inventory. Supervise staff by coaching, mentoring, and taking corrective action as needed. Manage a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to learning, providing feedback to management on student expectations and goals.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in education or related major
- teaching certificate
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- one to two years related experience and/or training
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Proficient in the use of standard office equipment
- Directly supervises employees in the Department
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
- Supervise, coaches, and mentors staff providing guidance to their work and learning
- when necessary, corrective/disciplinary action in a timely and professional manner
- Regularly required to sit
- Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear
- Occasionally required to stand and walk
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Close vision
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred, but not required
