Job Summary
Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment while supervising and engaging children in age-appropriate activities. Assist with planning and implementing daily lessons to support social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Maintain a clean, organized space, communicate progress with families, and follow all DSS regulations and policies. Collaborate with staff and administration, participate in meetings and professional development, and maintain accurate documentation. This role offers full-time or part-time in-person positions Monday through Friday for those passionate about early childhood education.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must meet all South Carolina DSS childcare employment requirements
- Completion of required background checks and clearances
- CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Completion of required professional development training
- Minimum of 15 hours of professional development annually
Desired Qualifications
- Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- Previous experience working in a childcare center, preschool, daycare, or classroom setting with children under five years old
- Must have a passion for working with young children
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Ability to provide a patient, caring, and supportive environment for children
