Job Summary
Create and implement weekly lesson plans supporting cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. Lead daily classroom activities including art, music, storytelling, and structured play while maintaining a clean, safe environment compliant with licensing standards. Conduct ongoing observations and assessments to track developmental progress, communicating regularly with families regarding children's milestones. Model best practices and support assistant teachers through guidance and feedback. Uphold required child-to-staff ratios and participate in regular safety checks. This full-time role involves Monday–Friday availability with occasional events outside regular hours. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of experience working in early childhood education
- Experience working with the age group you will lead (Infants/Ones, Twos, or Preschool)
- Prior experience leading a classroom independently
- Current Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- Completion of state-required early childhood training courses (including 40-hour childcare training, VPK Emergent Literacy, and applicable preservice coursework)
- Ability to meet state background screening requirements
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs, sit on the floor with children, and work on your feet for extended periods
- Availability during operating hours (Monday–Friday), with occasional events or trainings outside of regular hours
