Job Summary

Develop overall educational strategies by designing curriculum, implementing systems to assess student outcomes, and providing instructional leadership to teaching staff. Model instructional excellence by teaching core classes, observing teachers daily, and coaching on engagement strategies and Response to Intervention protocols. Supervise and evaluate staff while collaborating with the Director and College and Career Specialist to execute course scheduling and link academic services. Provide identification of internal and external academic support, analyze learning outcomes, and ensure participation in professional development. Serve on the leadership team and attend all team meetings to drive improvements in education and career outcomes for students.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in subject specialty
  • Illinois Teaching License
  • Two years of teaching experience post-licensing
  • Two or more years working in classrooms and coaching teachers
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively perform all functions of the job
  • Ability to sit and talk or hear
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to occasionally stand and walk
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check
  • Must be able to work year-round following the Excel Center school calendar with breaks built in
