Job Summary
Lead Teacher - Elementary responsible for instructional leadership, capacity-building for teachers and PLC teams, supporting professional growth, and aligning instruction with Iowa Core across literacy, math, science, special education, ELL, and technology. Works with the building principal to oversee daily operations, guide PBIS, coordinate mentoring and professional development, lead PLCs, collect and respond to data, implement MTSS interventions, and collaborate with instructional coaches to drive school improvement. Requires extensive experience in classroom instruction, data-informed planning, observation/feedback cycles, technology tools, and strong interpersonal and communication skills to support teachers and student learning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education
- Master’s degree in Principalship/Administration (or currently working towards)
- Completion of graduate work in curriculum and instruction (preferred)
- Iowa teaching certification
- PK-12 Principal/PK-12 Special Education Supervisor and Evaluator (New) certification or able to obtain within two years of hire
- Five (5) or more years of successful classroom teaching experience (elementary preferred)
- Experience related to adult learning (coaching, professional development, mentoring, teaching)
- Evidence of excellent oral, written and technology skills
