Job Summary
Articulate curricular standards aligned with MD Early Learning Standards and an emergent, Reggio Emilia-inspired approach. Partner with ECC children and families to build community, communicating regularly with parents. Ensure the safety and care of children through consistent supervision and attending to physical and emotional needs. Engage in professional development opportunities during and outside of the school day, reflecting on successes and responding to feedback. This full-time exempt position starts August 17, 2026, with a salary range of $48,000–$55,000 annually. The Bender JCC, located in Rockville, Maryland, operates a premier community center offering health, fitness, and educational programs rooted in Jewish values.
Required Qualifications
- 4 year College Degree in Early Childhood Education
- 90-hour certificate in early childhood curriculum & development
- minimum 5 years' experience, with increasing responsibility, working with preschool children in an approved center or equivalent work experience
- Ability to ensure the safety and care of the children, including, but not limited to, lifting (up to 40 lbs), carrying children, and other movement associated with caring for young children
- Ability to respond quickly and remain calm in an emergency
