Job Summary
The Lead Teacher at St. Gabriel Preschool Center is responsible for overall classroom leadership, planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate play-based curriculum, integrating Catholic values into daily activities, supervising Assistant Teachers, and building partnerships with families. The role requires meeting Virginia VDOE Lead Teacher requirements, a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, and experience with children aged 2-5. Strong classroom management and communication skills are essential, as is a commitment to a faith-based learning environment.
Required Qualifications
- Meets Virginia VDOE requirements for Lead Teacher
- Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree with experience, or CDA with 1+ years teaching experience
- Experience working with children ages 2–5
- Strong classroom management, communication, and leadership skills
- Commitment to supporting a Catholic, faith-based learning environment
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a Catholic or faith-based school
- Experience leading a classroom and supervising assistants
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
