Job Summary
Lead Teacher in a preschool program responsible for creating a developmentally appropriate, nurturing classroom using Creative Curriculum and aligning with Early Achievers/ECEAP quality standards. Plans and implements activities supporting children’s health, education and social-emotional development; maintains licensing-compliant practices; observes and documents development using Teaching Strategies assessments; leads family engagement through conferences and communications; supervises classroom staff and oversees scheduling, counts/attendance, and safety practices; requires 3+ years in Early Childhood and an associate degree (or equivalent development plan), with preferred Bachelor’s degree and bilingual ability, plus First Aid/CPR and Food Handlers certification.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in early childhood education or related field, required or on a DCYF approved professional development plan
- 3 or more years’ experience in teaching in Early Childhood program
- Valid First Aid and CPR
- Valid Food Handlers Card
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood development or early Childhood Education (preferred)
- Associate degree in early childhood education or related field (required or on a DCYF approved professional development plan)
- 3+ years’ experience teaching in an Early Childhood program
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required
- Valid First Aid and CPR
- Valid Food Handlers Card
- Demonstrated professional verbal and written communication
- Supervision of adults, classroom planning and management skills
- Confidentiality of children, families, and staff
