Job Summary
Test, commission, and diagnose BAS, EPMS, DCIM, electrical, and HVAC systems. Analyze communication issues with BMS, EPMS, and DCIM systems. Assist in design and configuration of BAS and EPMS systems per contract documentation. Lead TCP/IP and RS-485 network configuration on controls devices. Complete project documentation, build trend logs, and compile as-builts with updated markups. Work with facility technicians to implement changes in data center environments. Act as subject matter expert for client sites. Lead coordination with vendors, clients, project managers, and internal teams. Track job progress and keep project personnel informed. Communicate with project personnel upon arrival and departure. Perform work on data center sites following required safety measures. Travel as required by client or project needs.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years as a Data Center Technician, Controls Technician or related experience
- High School Diploma
- Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Knowledge of BACNET/LON/MODBUS protocols
- Knowledge of TCP/IP network and RS-485 network configuration
- Proficiency with basic operations of Windows 10 and standard office environment software
- Candidate must possess strong communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Candidate must have a disciplined approach to managing task assignments
- Candidate must be a self-starter and willing to learn new programs and applications
- General knowledge of safe working practices (e.g., familiar with proper tool safety, eye protection, ladder safety, etc.)
- Candidate must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the day
- Able to perform all essential job functions, including walking, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, lifting and manual dexterity, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Travel as required by client / project needs
Desired Qualifications
- Certification as a Controls Technician, Instrumentation Technician, Electronics Technician or similar field
- Knowledge of DDC, PLC or similar Ladder-Logic programming
- Proficient in MS Office, Outlook and Visio
- Able to read installation drawings (Visio drawings/spreadsheets)
