Job Summary
Lead complex, broad‐impact initiatives in Payments Platform Engineering with a focus on reliability, observability, and scalability. Embed Site Reliability Engineering and production engineering practices into Payments Modernization initiatives from design through early life support, ensuring platforms are operable, resilient, observable, and ready for production. Define and validate non‐functional requirements, lead capacity/performance testing for high‐volume events, and ensure robust replay, retry, and exception handling. Own permit‐to‐operate readiness, cutover, and on‐call readiness models, and drive end‐to‐end observability, SLOs, and error budgets. Collaborate with Application Engineering, Architecture, and Service Operations to shape how payment applications are built, tested, released, and stabilized at scale; apply chaos engineering and blameless RCAs to strengthen recovery and reduce risk.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience
- 3+ years of application support experience
- 3+ years of Platform experience in Kubernetes / container orchestration

- 2+ years of supporting webMethods applications
- 2+ years of Resilience Validation/Testing (Chaos Monkey, BlazeMeter)
- 2+ years Observability (distributed tracing, metrics, logging, SLO tooling)
- Strong experience in SRE/Production Engineering/Platform Engineering
- Solid understanding of high-value payment systems (Wires, RTP, SWIFT, CHIPS, FedNow)
- Experience with event-driven distributed architectures
- Ability to operate in early-stage transformation environments
- Familiarity with chaos engineering and RCAs
- Experience ensuring runbooks, on-call readiness, and escalation paths
