Job Summary
Lead Systems Engineer to lead and execute on programs for space satellite and defense initiatives. The role entails serving as Systems Engineer Lead, owning technical direction from requirements through verification and validation, developing and tracking budgets across subsystems, developing mission concepts and architectures, translating requirements into subsystem specifications, coordinating across RF, software, mechanical, and electrical teams for system-level integration, supporting proposal and business development activities, conducting design reviews and TIMs, identifying and mitigating risks, and mentoring junior engineers. Ideal candidate has SE lead experience on programs of record, familiarity with space/defense domains, and proficiency with requirements management tools, MBSE, MATLAB/Simulink, and program-tracking tools. Occasional travel up to 20% in a standard office setting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
- 7 years of systems engineering experience
- at least 2 years serving as an SE Lead on a program of record
- Master's degree preferred
- Experience in space, satellite, or defense programs
- Experience with requirements management tools (DOORS, Jama)
- MBSE tools (Cameo Systems Modeler)
- MATLAB / Simulink
- Confluence and Jira
- STK (Systems Tool Kit) for mission analysis
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to mentor junior engineers
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
