Lead Systems Engineer

Job Summary
Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of edge infrastructure, including servers, networking, and a lot of infrastructure glue. Ensure high availability, performance, and security hardening of the systems. Mentor and guide engineers, providing technical direction, goals and support. Implement and manage automation for system provisioning, monitoring, and maintenance. Establish and enforce best practices for systems engineering, observability, and incident response. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, RnD, network, security, and support. Continuously improving configuration management, automation, observability, agentic workflows and tools. Participate in on-call rotations and incident management as needed. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to infrastructure and processes.
Required Qualifications
- Strong expertise in linux/*nix environments
- Proficiency in scripting/automation tools such as Python, Bash, Ansible, or Terraform
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid infrastructure
- Solid understanding of networking, security, and storage concepts
- Solid experience with agentic coding
- 6+ years of experience in systems engineering/sre, with leadership or team lead experience for 3+ years
- Nice-to-have: Puppet, Prometheus, Grafana, Victoria Logs
- Knowledge of security and performance troubleshooting practices
- Experience in web security, AI in a wider sense
- Understanding BGP and related networking protocols
- Programming ability in C, Go, Python, or Rust
