Job Summary
Lead Systems Engineer at FactSet responsible for designing, automating, operating and troubleshooting a broad set of network systems including WAN, LAN, SAN, WiFi, DNS, DNS, AWS cloud networking, and network automation. Will lead design decisions, provide technical guidance on networking solutions, coordinate with IT teams and vendors, and mentor junior engineers. Requires strong experience across routing protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, EIGRP), LAN/WAN design, cloud networking, Kubernetes networking, and automation tools (Python, Ansible, REST, YAML/JSON). The role includes project management, incident response, and shift/on-call duties, with a focus on improving stability, performance, security, and service agility across FactSet’s network environment.
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent
- 8+ years relevant experience
- 3+ years’ experience as a technical lead
- Strong understanding of routing protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, EIGRP)
- Experience with WAN/LAN/DC and cloud networking
- Experience with Kubernetes networking and service mesh
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and cloud networking concepts
- Proficiency in network automation tools (Python, Ansible, REST APIs, YAML/JSON)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Mentoring or leading a small team is a plus
