Lead Synthetic Biologist
On-siteCambridge, Massachusetts, United States
Job Summary
Develop expertise with gene editing tools for knock-in, knock-out, and silencing activities while performing wet lab engineering of mammalian and non-mammalian cells. Design, produce, and test novel constructs using molecular cloning, plasmid digestion, and sequencing, alongside in vitro transcription and DNA/RNA extraction for qPCR and RT-qPCR assays. Independently plan experiments, troubleshoot protocols, and document progress in an electronic lab notebook. Analyze complex molecular data streams from flow cytometry and multi-omics techniques to characterize system targets and assess on- and off-target gene editing events. Collaborate with computational biologists and protein engineers to integrate biological design principles into the synthetic biology product development pipeline.
