Lead SW Engineer

Lead design and delivery of scalable backend services, APIs, and platform components powering Visa’s Intelligent Commerce use cases. Architect and build distributed, low-latency, highly available systems using cloud-native technologies. Partner with Product Managers to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions, while providing hands-on leadership to engineering teams. Drive end-to-end delivery of complex initiatives from system design through production deployment; contribute hands-on coding, system design, debugging, and performance optimization. Apply and evolve microservices patterns, API design standards, and engineering best practices; improve developer productivity and platform capabilities including CI/CD and observability. Mentor engineers to raise the technical bar and lead cross-team initiatives; identify opportunities for reuse and cost efficiency. Support adoption of AI-assisted development tools and workflows to improve velocity and quality. This is a hybrid position with in-office days to be confirmed by the hiring manager and Visa requires at least 3 days in office.
