Job Summary
Lead Sushi Chef responsible for all aspects of producing sushi for the in-store fresh sushi program, with frequent direct customer interaction during production and sampling. Must work in a clean, organized, customer-facing environment, be outgoing and able to answer customer questions. Responsibilities include greeting and engaging guests, preparing finfish/shellfish/produce, maintaining sushi rice food-safety records, assembling/labeling sushi and sides, creating custom rolls, training and assisting other associates, ensuring compliance with Food City policies and federal/state/local food-safety standards, monitoring temperatures and ingredient shelf lives, keeping a neat workstation, knowing the sushi menu, marketing the sushi program through sampling, assisting with supply ordering and signage, and communicating customer feedback to the Meat Department Manager. Qualifications include being 18+, ability to meet physical/mental/visual demands, follow instructions, work scheduled shifts, and maintain regular attendance.
