Job Summary
Lead Surgical Technologist coordinates surgeon schedules and prepares the operating room for procedures, ensures sterility and patient safety, handles specimens, prepares supplies and equipment, validates patient and operative site, and serves as a preceptor and resource for team members. The role requires knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, sterilization, laser skills, and strong interpersonal/communication abilities; requires BLS, and an NBSTSA CST is preferred. Education includes High School diploma or equivalent with an Associate degree preferred; 1+ years of surgical technology experience is expected. The position is full-time in Castle Rock, CO, with duties spanning OR coordination, instrument setup, infection control, and collaboration with physicians and staff.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equiv [Required]
- 1+ years experience in surgical technology OR OR setting [Required]
- Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS) [Required]
- Associate degree in Surgical Technology (preferred)
Desired Qualifications
- NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred
- CST/CSA certifications preferred
- 1+ years of surgical technology or OR experience
- Associate degree in Surgical Technology preferred
- NBSTSA CST certification (preferred)
- CS A/CSA certifications (preferred)
- BLS required
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (required)
- Surgical instrumentation and sterile technique knowledge (required)
- Operating room coordination experience (required)
- Preceptor/mentoring abilities (preferred)
