Job Summary
Lead shifts within a residential care setting, providing guidance and direction to Support Workers while managing incidents and responding to behaviours of concern. Ensure accurate documentation, support the implementation of care plans and therapeutic frameworks, and act as the key escalation point during shifts. Promote a safe, stable, and nurturing home environment for children and young people with complex needs. Operate across a 24/7 roster including sleepovers, active nights, weekends, and public holidays. This role offers a supportive, values-driven team culture with ongoing professional development pathways.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working in residential care, out-of-home care, youth work, disability services or a related field
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches
- Confidence leading shifts and making sound decisions in dynamic environments
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to manage complex situations and behaviours in a calm and consistent manner
- A genuine commitment to the safety, wellbeing and development of children and young people
- A Certificate IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention (or a higher relevant qualification)
- Demonstrated experience in a Lead Support Worker or similar senior position
- Experience supporting children and young people with complex needs and behaviours
- Appointment subject to satisfactory NDIS Workers Screening Clearance, Working with Children Check, Police Check
