Job Summary
Provide physical and emotional support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities while maintaining a safe, clean living environment. Supervise daily activities, empower individuals to demonstrate independence through self-help and self-determination skills, and ensure regulatory compliance by managing health documentation and facilitating team trainings. Lead a team of Direct Support Professionals by supervising, training, scheduling, and administering performance evaluations while communicating professionally with Professional Managers. Integrate individuals into the community by facilitating meaningful relationships and encouraging participation in constructive activities. Support individual health by coordinating with healthcare providers, administering medications, and assisting with personal care and hygiene. Participate in a tiered on-call system to ensure adequate coverage outside regularly scheduled hours.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- One year of supervisory or management experience
- One year of experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable, licensed and insured vehicle
- Must have reliable form of communication
- Ability to satisfactorily complete mandatory (paid) trainings to include CPR/First Aid and Level 1 Med-Aide
- Ability and strength to position/lift/transfer greater than 50 lbs. (an adult human being) regularly, including the ability to safely assist an adult human being to the ground to perform CPR
- Continuous ability to push and pull 100-125 lbs. of pressure consistently over extended periods as per requirements of performing CPR, as defined by the American Heart Association
- Continuous ability to kneel on hard or other surfaces for extended periods, as per requirements of performing CPR
- Ability to satisfactorily complete mandatory (paid) trainings to include CPR/First Aid and Level 1 Med-Aide
