Job Summary
Lead Supplier Quality Engineer driving supplier quality through qualification, audits, and development. Responsible for quality plan implementation, supplier qualification processes, supplier scorecards, and improvement plans; conducts supplier audits to ensure compliance and leads improvement initiatives. Role encompasses both Supplier Quality Assurance and Supplier Quality Development with emphasis on engineering drawings interpretation, lean methods, and applying industry best practices to achieve excellence. Requires cross-functional collaboration, project leadership on small initiatives, and the ability to guide suppliers toward industrial standards of excellence. Related experience in aerospace or highly regulated environments and knowledge of AS9100, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, control plans, and SPC are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related field (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering)
- Significant experience in supplier quality, manufacturing, quality engineering, or operations
- Experience in aerospace, aviation, or highly regulated manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of AS9100, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, control plans, SPC, and related quality tools
- Experience performing supplier audits and driving measurable supplier improvement
- familiarity with lean principles and continuous improvement
- Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to drive decisions
- Demonstrated leadership in supplier development or quality systems
- Strong oral and written communication skills
