Job Summary
Lead Substation Protection & Control Engineer position (Remote within Ontario or Saskatchewan, Canada) focusing on design and preparation of protection and control drawings for HV substations (12kV–500kV). Responsibilities include designing protective schemes, relay one-lines and three-lines, AC/DC schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, SCADA/communication diagrams, DC/AC calculations, equipment specs, BOM development, vendor data integration, QA/QC, client coordination, site data gathering, and continuous professional development. Must be a motivated, proactive engineer capable of working from home with minimal supervision; 8+ years P&C experience; BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering; experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and MicroStation; knowledge of NEC/NESC/IEEE/ANSI; PE/EIT preferred.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Engineering, preferably electrical or computer engineering
- 8+ years of protection and controls experience
- 5+ years of experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and MicroStation
- Engineering in Training license (EIT) and/or Professional Engineer License (PE) are preferred
- Knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE and ANSI standards
- Development of protection and control drawings and related deliverables (One Lines, Schematics, Wiring Diagrams, Relay settings coordination)
- Site visits for data gathering and QA/QC processes
- Strong communication and coordination skills with clients and drafting disciplines
- Ability to work from home within Ontario or Saskatchewan (Canada)
