Job Summary
Senior-level Lead Substation Engineer responsible for overseeing complex substation engineering and EPC projects, leading and mentoring a high-performing engineering team, managing scope/schedule/budgets, client relationships, and engineering deliverables. Will support design and development of substation layouts, grounding systems, conduit plans, and foundation drawings; requires extensive substation engineering experience and proficiency with MicroStation and AutoCAD. Responsibilities include developing project plans, coordinating with clients/vendors/contractors, reviewing preliminary designs and material lists, ensuring QA/QC compliance, tracking progress, and driving client satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 10+ years of direct substation physical and electrical engineering experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in any state with ability to obtain licensure in additional states
- Strong proficiency with MicroStation and AutoCAD
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Windows-based software
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, designers, and drafters
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work products
