Job Summary
Lead Structural Engineer to oversee complex industrial structural design for water/wastewater, water treatment, heavy industry, mining, and power projects. Provide high-level technical guidance, mentor junior engineers, manage structural engineers and designers, and act as a subject-matter expert for clients and project teams. Responsibilities include data collection and analysis from sites and maps, applying advanced structural and civil engineering techniques across project phases (concept through operation), developing construction plans and cost estimates, coordinating with owners, disciplines, sub-consultants, and clients, and ensuring compliance with codes and permits. The role involves managing cross-functional teams, preparing data visualizations and technical reports, performing site investigations, developing health and safety plans, and collaborating with regulatory agencies and stakeholders. Travel may be required depending on project requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
- 7 to 10 years of relevant post-education experience in engineering discipline and prior structural or civil design experience
- Engineer license required
- Proficient with structural engineering principles, practices, design/build, and related project work
- Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management; rehabilitation, new design, and construction projects
- Knowledge of sustainability concepts and reducing hazardous substances/greenhouse gas usage
- Knowledge of structural and civil codes, regulations, and compliance practices
- Strong analytical and technical computing skills and ability to interpret plans/specifications
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with stakeholders
- Ability to lead teams and guide junior engineers
- Proficiency with design software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, InRoads, Geopak, GeoSlope, ANSYS, STADD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS)
- Willingness for occasional travel
