Job Summary
Lead SPD Technician drives day-to-day operations of the Sterile Processing Department, collaborating with Supply Chain and Surgical Services to maintain regulatory compliance, optimize workflow for decontamination, prep/packaging, and sterilization, and anticipate instrument and supply needs for the Operating Room. The role provides hands-on leadership for SPD Technicians, communicates interruptions or delays to OR staff, and ensures instruments and equipment are safe, sterile, and ready for procedures in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 24 months as Certified SPD Technician
- CRST Certification from IAHCSMM or CBSPD
