Job Summary
Act as the primary on-site point of contact between NIST shift supervisors and Contractor personnel, overseeing operations for four high-pressure steam generators, two additional boilers, seven 3500-ton chillers, and gas CHP turbine generators. Maintain correct steam pressure, water levels, and combustion O2 levels while performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting control issues, and executing housekeeping duties. Ensure safe operation of all auxiliary equipment associated with steam, chilled water, and compressed air generation. This contingent role requires an active MD-DLLR Grade 1 License and Universal CFC License, with a schedule of 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
Required Qualifications
- Active MD-DLLR Grade 1 License (First Class Stationary Engineer)
- Current Universal CFC License
- CUP experience
- Minimum of 3-5+ years experience as a Lead or Chief Engineer in a comparable size facility (2 million + sq. ft.)
- Comprehensive knowledge of MEP systems, specialized subcontracted trades, and mission critical operating characteristics to oversee and direct daily equipment and systems operations
- Computer proficient and advanced knowledge of DDC control system
- Strong communication and writing skills
