Job Summary
Lead Vegetation Strategy role focused on transforming planning, analysis, and optimization of vegetation programs to enhance grid reliability. Responsibilities include developing and enhancing vegetation management strategies for cycle pruning and hazard tree programs; turning data into actionable insights; prioritizing investments to strengthen system resilience; coordinating annual work plans with Forestry Operations; deploying next-generation tools, data systems, and remote sensing; ensuring regulatory filings (e.g., NY PSC reports) and compliance; refining technical specifications, policies, and governance; and collaborating with industry groups (IEEE, EPRI, UAA) to adopt cutting-edge approaches. The position requires applying data analysis and modeling to inform decisions, synthesizing complex data into actionable insights, and influencing cross-functional stakeholders to improve reliability, safety, and customer outcomes. Strong knowledge of vegetation impacts on electric distribution system reliability and related field experience are expected, with a focus on driving measurable reliability enhancements and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Urban Forestry, or a related field (or equivalent experience)required
- ISA Arborist Certification preferred (or ability to obtain within one year)
- 5+ years of relevant experience required(10+ preferred)
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed required
