Job Summary
Lead Specialist – Software Development providing technical leadership to develop and implement software solutions that enhance engineering analysis across multi-disciplinary domains. Shape the engineering software strategy, ensure robust validation/verification, act as a technical authority for software quality, and mentor engineers while collaborating with internal teams, supply chain partners and external forums. Requires experience with Python and Azure DevOps, familiarity with Abaqus/Ansys, and experience delivering software across the full product lifecycle within a regulated nuclear environment.
Required Qualifications
- A degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or a related discipline
- Chartered Engineer status or progress towards it
- Strong experience in developing, verifying and implementing software tools for engineering analysis (structural or defect tolerance applications)
- Solid understanding of software development environments (Python, Azure DevOps) and tools (Abaqus, Ansys)
- Experience in regulated industry with knowledge of standards, quality management and compliance frameworks
- Ability to mentor and lead engineers; strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Willingness to participate in BPSS clearance, DBS checks, and basic probity checks
