Job Summary
Lead Specialist Payroll FinOps drives accurate payroll processing, resolves complex payroll exceptions, and provides day-to-day guidance to Specialists while coaching L2 teammates. The role manages end-to-end payroll activities with 100% accuracy and timeliness, escalates complex cases, contributes to documentation and SOPs, and supports year-end deliverables and ad-hoc initiatives, all within policy and audit controls. It requires strong analytical skills, stakeholder communication, and the ability to coordinate with SMEs/onshore teams, with a focus on process improvements and timely reporting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Business/Human Resources (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of payroll operations experience with strong understanding of federal and state payroll requirements
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; able to analyze reports and identify trends
- Strong attention to detail; professional communicator able to handle escalations and stakeholder interactions
- Demonstrated integrity and confidentiality; commitment to coaching and knowledge sharing
- Flexibility to work extended hours during critical business timelines
- FPC/CPP is an advantage; Workday/MyTime knowledge is preferred
