Lead Sourcing Engineer – MRI New Product Introduction

Job Summary
Lead sourcing strategy and execution for new product introduction (NPI) programs—from early design through production launch. Partner closely with engineering to shape supplier strategy, selection, and early design decisions; identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers meeting technical, quality, and cost requirements; participate in design reviews to influence manufacturability and cost; drive cost optimization through should-cost analysis and supplier negotiations; balance cost, quality, and innovation in sourcing decisions; bring forward supplier capabilities and new technologies to support product development; own ongoing supplier performance including quality, delivery, and cost metrics; proactively identify and mitigate supplier-related risks; collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, project management, sourcing, and manufacturing; support early supplier involvement capabilities and ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in sourcing, supplier engineering, manufacturing, or supply chain within a technical environment
- Hands-on experience with engineering specifications, technical drawings, and product requirements
- Experience working directly with suppliers (sourcing, supplier quality, manufacturing, or similar)
- Proven ability to understand and communicate technical requirements across engineering teams and suppliers
- Experience leading or owning sourcing efforts for new product introduction (NPI) or product development programs
- Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills
